It is one of the tabs I take for depression n I do forget things very easy now when I am talking I forget what I was talking about n the names of things it was one of the tabs I was given some years ago when I went to see the hospital doc about the pain in my neck

I took elavil many, many years ago for chronic migraine. I don't usually have strong reactions to medications, very few side effects and normal doses don't seem to effect me - but with elavil, I remember taking a tiny pill and having to split it in two and only take half because it would make me sleep for hours and hours. It seems that when I took it my doctor was planning on it being long term for a preventative or prophylactic use. At the time I wasn't depressed, so that may have been part of why it hit me so hard. I've heard other people say it works wonders for them. I hope you find a good balance of things that help without too many side effects.

Heyyy, Jackie I just looked up long term on Elavil. It says you have to continue to increase doses and it harms short term memory. What are you taking this for, if you don't mind me asking?
