Pain Doctors
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone in the Indianapolis/ Avon area know of or deal with a good pain management doctor? My has left his practice to go to the Academic side of medication. I'm at a completely dumbfounded since I scheduled an appointment in the same office just different doctor and he refuses to do anything for chronic pain. So any and all thoughts and input would be very welcome. Thanks in advance for your help in this matter 💜

Sorry I don't live in Indie so I can't recommend my pain specialist. I found my pain specialist because he was recommended by my comp lawyer as one of the best to work with. As a retired RN I will give you this piece of advice. Ask one of your doctors or nurses that you trust who they would see if they need a pain specialist. Don't be afraid to ask if they have heard anything good/bad about a doctor you are considering. Nurses especially love to gossip and share info. I have chosen all of my doctors based on information gleaned from other nurses and have always been totally honest with clients who have asked for my opinion.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member I'm pretty new at being a Hoosier. We just moved here back in May. So far I love it here. I really wished we lived closer to one another so we could get together for coffee or something.💜

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member You're right. Definitely as nurses and talk to patients in waiting rooms. Ive walked out of offices before after talking to people in the waiting room about the Doctors and the practice.
Due to the FDA and different regulations from different States...
Some Doctors are so afraid to prescribe narcotics because they'll get in trouble.
Its insane!
