Please, never burden any person with the task of murdering yourself. If you can't do it, why should you place the risk of "life in a cage" for a friend. In essence, you are taking the life of a dear friend, too. Life is simply too precious to waste because witch hunters, hell bent on feeling self righteous, want to deny people in pain, comfort, in favor of a false idea that they are somehow going to save those who wish to abuse themselves Denying available comfort and care (torture) violates every principal of our laws, yet we allow it to happen with only a peep. Pain patients are far too silent and the "I am a victim" mentality of the abusers must be drowned out with some common sense. It seems that the majority of people simply, don't think about people in pain. I think I know, all to well, what you feel when I have laid in fetal position for over 3 days and nights at a time, unable to eat, forcing fluid, with tears streaming down my cheeks, knowing no doctor will risk their freedom to properly treat me. This is when I get mad, real mad, and promise myself I will, somehow, do something to prevent someone else from ever having to go through this needless Hell. I think people really care. They are bombarded with media coverage of society's failures and an inanimate object (opiate) is vilified as if it has a mind of its own. When we are shamed, and the drugs we need for quality of life are being blamed,we have an obligation to humanity, and ourselves to stand up and educate those who are making judgment based on disinformation and faulty thought. Ever asked someone if they would cut back or eliminate antibiotics if they suffer a life threatening infection? Try it and enjoy the reaction!

Doctors, today, answer to only two groups, insurance companies and the government. As patients, we are left out in the cold with little to no, real voice in matters. If one looks at our Constitution it becomes clear that there is a violation of our 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th Amendment rights. Doctors demand we undergo P-tests (violation of the 4th and 5th) or we will be denied treatment.. We are looked at and treated like convicts, without being informed of the nature and cause of the accusation of our crime (violation of the 6th), and we are being denied proper relief (cruel punishment or torture-8th Amendment). Need I also mention the excessive money we must pay in monthly O.Vs, tests and repetitive high priced C.T. scans and/or M.R.I.s, etc., not to mention inflated drug pricing due to redundant layers of record keeping. Remember, we are the majority, numbering in the tens of millions, while government caters to the minority of abusers and those with addictive personalities.
Maybe a class action suit should be brought against the government by pain patients.
It is a sad day when a lawsuit must be brought to correct this situation that has been allowed to metastasize, but we are being left with few options as our backs are against the wall. I would be interested in hearing comments from other pain patients.

I've lived on pain medication for over 6 years now. It has done some damage to my mind and body, this is the government keeping people under there thumb. And yes, so many people are overdosing and dying from these opioids . And when OxyContin came out on the market they told the public that they were not addictive. They are so addictive it's scary. I'm so tired of taking two very addictive opioids every day multiple times. They need to legalize marijuana nationwide, and not just medical marijuana.

Yes. It's evil that people have and probably will more often now, look forwards to the perception of blissful nothingness in death when all they need is a little adequate narcotic pain relief. People have used opioids for over 3500 years, I think. It's never, never been an awful thing. Some people have become bent on making a name for themselves and the fad has been "the war on drugs" at all costs it seems. Other people just don't give a hoot until it's them in severe enough pain enough of the time to require real relief, and they know it's a lie that a drug can be evil, rather than mankind's inability to "know thyself".

I had a friend agree to kill me way back when I was first diagnosed. It's 23 nyesrs later. I am Godmother to her kids. Things have moved forward. Now she says she cannot.

I was in the diamond business. You can make a diamond from human ashes. I had planned to give her the stone. Her concern was me
Getting lost or stollen. It only uses 1/2 cup
Of ashes so I figure it could be insured.

People are too serious about death. I know there is something wonderful after life. I don't buy into hell and damnation. I think it's all good once you leave your physical body.

I will figure it out when the time comes. And I it will for us all. And it will be pain that takes me out.

I almost passed in 2015. Was in a coma. Heart failure and liver and kidney failure. But I was pulled back by love and prayer.

So I push to do good things. For my family- friends and strangers in need.

Yes we are here for a reason. Look for it.
