How Many Here Have Siblings And Extended Family With RSD
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

IN doing some research I have found out that there are. 3 out of 6 siblings(mine)that have RSD...7 OUT OF 10 Aunts also have it...not including cousins.....THIS IS ON MY MOM'S SIDE OF THE FAMILY

So I'm wondering if it runs in anyone else's family...

It's a question to make your brain hurt.......think about all the old folks back in the day diagnosed with arthritis...

My wonderful dad passed away with ALS. He worked at the Pickering Nucleur Power plant here in Ontario for 31 years as a ironworker, and was diagonsed when he was almost 62 years old. He died on Xmas eve morning at 64, and was totally paralyzed from the neck down, Thankfully 25 years ago there was a lot of money in the health care system and he was able to stay at home with nursing care. We don't know if he was born with the muted gene or work related from the radiation from his job.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member yes in the commonwealth its motor neurons disease. That guy who just died Hawkins (forget his first name the one who was a science professor and came up with the theory of the big bang) He had it. It was Lou Gehrig's because he was one of the first to be diagnosed with it

its sad as its an illness that takes away peoples abilities to function. The lady from Church couldn't talk anymore or eat but use to do the thumbs up to communicate but could still walk. others they are left in a wheelchair and slurred speech which is what happened to one of the men from the hockey club. Often people are trapped in a body which doesn't work.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member he has good and bad days. He has spent a lot of time in hospital as there are times he cant walk. They seem to have found some things that work for him. He may be closer to 14 15 as I know he has a younger brother who may have turned 13. He has CFS So both of the boys suffer from autoimmune issues.

Its like MND, Motor Neuron's decease which is also Lou Gehrig's (sp) and has another name ALS.
I know it by all names as I have had friends in the states who have lost a friend with ALS and on of our church members died of MND here. We also had a couple other people who we were friendly with died from it also.
