I am scheduled for this procedure at the Allevio Pain Management Clinic in Toronto. Medications, alternative therapies, and cervical spine surgery have been ineffective in pain management. Healthcare… read more

Radiofrequency Ablation
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’m at my wits end. Having tried literally everything there is and I’m now going to enquire with a neurosurgeon about this radio frequency treatment.
Has anyone with peripheral neuropathy tried this?
Would you recommend it?

Radiofrequency Neurotomy
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am on the waitlist for cervical spine Radiofrequency Neurotomy. I had a C4-C5 cervical spine surgery with iliac bone fusion in Sept 2019. It did not resolve the pain, it worsened the pain and further decreased range of motion. I also had a fusion at L4-L5 in 2002, and lumbo-sacral tarlov cysts removed in 2021 (since grew back). I have advanced OA (cervical spine greatly affected), tarlov cysts, and Myofascial Syndrome. For those that had the procedure done, what was your experience and… read more

I'm 75 With Chronic Pain. I Know Having A Cat Would Make Me Much Happier, But I Don't Have Anyone To Rely On If I Need Occasional Help.
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I want to make sure that my cat will always have what they need. I've always had cats in my life, and the occasional dog. It would be great if I were close to an animal lover I could count on if my cat needs anything that I can't provide at that time. I know I would be less depressed but I don't want an animal to suffer because of me. Does anyone have any ideas about what I can do, or if I should not have an animal friend at all at this point in my life?

I think you will easily find a pet sitter if you can afford one. If not I would check your nearest Senior Center as they probably have volunteers who could help you out with the cat and maybe even… read more

Why Are Drugs Mostly Always The Answer?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have lower back pain for years. Now I have Sciatica along with everything else. I have gone to Neurologists, Ortho guys, my Primary, a Chiro and a few others, and mostly the only thing offered to me is Drugs. I can have "anything I want" from Asprin to Percoset. I dont want any of it. I want to find a treatment or cure that I can actually live with. PT doesnt work for me bevause it only brings on more pain. I'm 71, I'd like to enjoy the years I have left.

Reduce Cost Massage/Acupuncture
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

My insurance won't cover any type of alternative pain relief treatments like acupuncture. I have tried it two times and it helped better than any medicine or other treatments I have ever tried, but had to pay completely out of pocket and it's no way near cheap. My family already has to care for my paralyzed mother and we can't afford any extra spending. Our insurance barely covers any of my families medical expenses, but we make "too much" money to receive any type of aid. Is there any other way… read more

You need to find a specialist who knows how to do it and has a CT or at least an ultrasound available. It can help you to patch up the pain for 1 - 3 months depending on the stage of your herniated… read more
