Magnesium For Leg Pain
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

For the past 12 years I have suffered from neuropathy in my legs and have been taking Lyrica for pain.
Recently the pain has worsened so my doctor prescribed Magnesium.
Has anyone else taken Magnesium for pain and has it worked?

I use magnesium for pain. I use a chewable, and it is very effective for muscle cramps. Be careful, too much causes loose stools.... best of luck.

I'm just the opposite I take 300mg twice a day. And I get lethargic with out them.
Lyrica has the same properties but 4x as expensive. But I think meds affect individuals differently. 🤔

Recovery From Back Surgery
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

My doctor wants to do a laminectomy on L4-L5 because I have bulging/leaking disc and synovial cyst pressing on my right sciatic nerve. I don't have any family around so I will have to pay someone to help me out after surgery. I am wondering if it will be a long recovery and if I will be able to return to work without pain before 2 weeks (because I'm broke). I also have the same thing on L5-S1 with a cyst on the left side there but he didn't want to fix that yet. Everyone I know who has had back… read more

Does Anyone Experience Severe Charlie Horses
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I get severe Charlie horses in just about every part of my body. The worst ones are on both of my sides and rib cage right under my breast. Just a slight turn either way or leaning forward in the sitting position triggers them. They are extremely pain that they sometimes take my breath away. I also get them in my hands, feet, legs etc. But the ones in the side are the worst. Does anyone else deal with this issue? If so do you know the cause and if theirs anything to do it help. Thanks for… read more

Why Are Drugs Mostly Always The Answer?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have lower back pain for years. Now I have Sciatica along with everything else. I have gone to Neurologists, Ortho guys, my Primary, a Chiro and a few others, and mostly the only thing offered to me is Drugs. I can have "anything I want" from Asprin to Percoset. I dont want any of it. I want to find a treatment or cure that I can actually live with. PT doesnt work for me bevause it only brings on more pain. I'm 71, I'd like to enjoy the years I have left.

You need to find a specialist who knows how to do it and has a CT or at least an ultrasound available. It can help you to patch up the pain for 1 - 3 months depending on the stage of your herniated… read more

We all rest. I am almost professional at it. I awake some times feeling well rested, other times I am immediately ready to go back to sleep again.
