A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi, I been in pain management for close to 20 years the last 10 in the same practice same (GREAT) doctor. Same type and dosage for that whole time but I'm at the point that I need to up OR increase potency. With the way things are with many of us getting cut back or cut off completely I'm afraid to ask him. He has always been such an understanding and good to me man I hate to ask. So my question how can I increase in this situation? I don't want him to think his treatment is failing but the… read more

Don't ask for an increase, just tell him how you are doing or maybe how you are not doing. He should recognize that you need some help with an increase or an additional medication added to the mix.

i have found that when i ask my doctor for an increase in frequency or higher dosage, he does so willingly!! i dont ask often and he knows that i a very careful with opiods. i just received new dosage of 3 norcos/day instead of 2 and a half. my pain level is quite a bit lower with that simple increase.

Good idea but I've dropped many hints and he has not picked up yet. The way things are I thank the Lord I'm getting what I am. Thank you And be blessed.

Tell your Doctor about the problems you are experiencing. A good doctor will adjust your meds so that you can get some needed sleep. I was switched to codeine which quit working after one year. I got back on Norco, which works.

Also had a recent RFA which finally got to my sorest spot.
