I keep a notebook and pen at arms reach for noting when I take meds and what weather is like and try and see if there is a pattern to my pain. With MS it changes all the time. I do know that when… read more
After years of pain, my pain management doctor put me on Lyrica (Pregabalin) and so far, I have to say I believe I am seeing results. It has only been going on three weeks since I started it but my… read more
Hi If I wait for the pain to get severe, I will be going 911 to the ER at the hospital. I know my body enough to know the difference in pain level.

I was sitting here in a cold Birmingham UK, having just taken my 6 hourly meds., and wondered what the odds are of people escaping the Chronic Pain cycle after having been 'in it' for more than 12 years, or at any point in the cycle for that matter?
I guess I'm fortunate. The various doc's, specialists and consultants I've seen were unable to agree what the cause/s is/are, but I have at least got meds., that relieve the pain that afflicts me by about 25% (some of the time), even though the… read more
Yes what is that please, Kim? I'm in UK too. Sheffield. Having a very painful flare up.
I just feel like when this whole opiod crisis came to light drs thought hmmm injections will make us some money..I never needed then and I do not want or need now ..how can I find a dr to understand that. I noticed when I call saying I need pain management they say they only treat with injections..they dont even know what's wrong with me ..no tests have been sent no exam has been done just a phone call.how is this consider good health care
Depends on what kind of injection. for some the pain med in the spine can work wonders, others of us, not so much.
I know that they are bad people out there, but we are not one of them, and yet we get treated like we are bad, because we are in pain and what helps us is being decided by people who do not feel what we do
Ur NOT a bad person DONT ever let the B******s get U down M2
I have lower back pain for years. Now I have Sciatica along with everything else. I have gone to Neurologists, Ortho guys, my Primary, a Chiro and a few others, and mostly the only thing offered to me is Drugs. I can have "anything I want" from Asprin to Percoset. I dont want any of it. I want to find a treatment or cure that I can actually live with. PT doesnt work for me bevause it only brings on more pain. I'm 71, I'd like to enjoy the years I have left.
Yes Yvonnelewis. Does tiger balm help your joints.thanks Lorraine xx 😃
I lost my primary care physician a year ago when he retired and left me with no doctor. FYI: In my state that is against the law! Now because of the whole "opioid epidemic" no doctor in my town will touch me! I can't even find any of these 1000's of pain meds that are sold on every street corner! Believe me, that is BS! So for a year I have suffered, alone. It has gotten so bad, I can't walk across the room without using a cane
And there are days like today when all I can do is scream… read more

Studies show it helps. I lay down and calm my mind, taking very deep breaths and exhaling more than inhaling. Stale air is in the lungs and sometimes clearing our breath and getting good air to our… read more
Lately it seems as though there are several people weaning off medications by their own personal choice. I'm not referring to those of you that are being forced to get off of meds. I'd be interested in hearing your results; comments. If you have been force to get off of narcotics and had good results, please share. Jean
