Odd Symptom When I Have Burning Pain
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

Due to nerve damage in my spinal cord I have peripheral neuropathy in both hands. Whenever I have burning pain it is usually on my palms. My palms will also turn bright red and I get a small blister in one spot as if I have been burned. Has anyone experienced anything like this with burning pain?

Try rubbing coconut oil into your hands. My granddaughter swears by it. The palms of her hands blister. Dr gave her all kinds of steroids and didn't work but she used the oil and cleared it up.

Does Anyone Else Suffer Weight Issues Due To Medication?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hi, I have been on Lyrica for about 6 months and have put on about 12 kgs. The problem is it is mostly around my middle section and added to the chronic pain it is getting me down. Has anyone else experienced weight gain while on Lyrica and how do you combat it. Really need to be able to lose some of this weight as the extra kgs are making my back pain worse.

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

Hello, I have had 5 previous back surgeries with fusions. I recently got a knee replacement 12/18/17. I am now having terrible back muscle spasms and sciatic nerve pain. I know it takes some getting used to but this is bad, Its hindering my recovery. I had to lie all day Monday because of this. Now coming up the steps it screamed at me. A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’ve been bed ridden since. My question is this, how can I sleep for more than an hour or so without waking from the pain? (My sides are my only option for sleeping due to 7 Spinal surgeries.) Lumbar Spine Surgery, Should I?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

Diagnosed with severe Lumbar spinal stenosis. Orthopedic doc recommended laminectomy and fusion. Decided to go to a neurosurgeon for second opinion. He also recommended laminectomy on three vertebrae and fusion on three vertebrae. I won't kid you, I'm scared. Is the surgery going to work, relieve me of pain? How long is the recovery? He says it could be 6-12 months! Anyone had this experience? I've had two knee replacements and two cancer surgeries in the last 18 years. I hate the thought of… read more

How much levels are you having fused? That is important. Two levels are considered multilevel and that should be enough. I was a fool to trust a surgeon to do a five level lumbar fusion plus my… read more

Why Are Drugs Mostly Always The Answer?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have lower back pain for years. Now I have Sciatica along with everything else. I have gone to Neurologists, Ortho guys, my Primary, a Chiro and a few others, and mostly the only thing offered to me is Drugs. I can have "anything I want" from Asprin to Percoset. I dont want any of it. I want to find a treatment or cure that I can actually live with. PT doesnt work for me bevause it only brings on more pain. I'm 71, I'd like to enjoy the years I have left.
