A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have a friend who thinks that I am putting it on, when I say that I am in pain, as she just says, well you look good, are you sure you have pain, this really hurts me inside. Do any of you have friends or family who think that the pain is in your head?

Are There Any Programs Out There Include Families In The Process?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am finding that my family (my adult kids) don't really seem to understand how difficult it has been to live with this for almost 20 years. To have a way to help them "get" that there are times I just can't. Not won't, just can't do things. I'm overloaded and flattened. They seem to view it as lazy and unmotivated.

How Do I Share A Picture Of My Companion Animal.
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

His name is Bugsie, were together 24\7, sometimes he's my only company. He warns me when Ive got a migraine coming on. He keeps me active when I'm able but is quite happy just hanging out on the couch watching a movie or curling up in bed with me in bad days. He also keeps me calm through stressful situations - I have a paradoxical reaction to anxiety meds, so he is my anxiety 💊. When were out he's strictly business but relaxes & let's loose at home. I don't think I'd make it out of bed or leave… read more

Cancer And Fibromyalgia
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of 2016. Had my chemo and radiation last year. Now on hormone treatment. Man, the side effects from the hormone pill is awful. I have joint pain in my arms, hands, wrists, finger, shoulders. So my Onc. changed my hormone pill. Still in pain. He forgot that I had Fibromyalgia. Does anyone else have Fibromyalgia and deal with cancer?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member

I had breast cancer and mixed connective tissue disorder (mctd) at the same time. I’m on hormone blocker now. Don’t know if it causes joint and muscle pain because I have it anyway with mctd.

Recovery From Back Surgery
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

My doctor wants to do a laminectomy on L4-L5 because I have bulging/leaking disc and synovial cyst pressing on my right sciatic nerve. I don't have any family around so I will have to pay someone to help me out after surgery. I am wondering if it will be a long recovery and if I will be able to return to work without pain before 2 weeks (because I'm broke). I also have the same thing on L5-S1 with a cyst on the left side there but he didn't want to fix that yet. Everyone I know who has had back… read more

Why Are Drugs Mostly Always The Answer?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have lower back pain for years. Now I have Sciatica along with everything else. I have gone to Neurologists, Ortho guys, my Primary, a Chiro and a few others, and mostly the only thing offered to me is Drugs. I can have "anything I want" from Asprin to Percoset. I dont want any of it. I want to find a treatment or cure that I can actually live with. PT doesnt work for me bevause it only brings on more pain. I'm 71, I'd like to enjoy the years I have left.
