I was told and also read that Ibuprofen raises blood pressure. So I try not to take much of it whenever possible. So I am left with Tylenol extra strength. .which helps for two to three hours and then it's back to pain.
I can't take anything with codene, it gives me the worst stomach pains ever!
And my doctor won't even talk other pain meds. So frustrating! ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

Members connected over the frustration of managing chronic pain when blood pressure concerns or allergies limit medication options, with many sharing that it took months of persistent advocacy to finally get their doctors to prescribe effective alternatives like Norspan or buprenorphine patches. Several members offered practical guidance, including seeking a pain management specialist rather than relying solely on a primary care doctor, being aware that many physicians avoid prescribing narcotics due to regulatory burdens, and considering low-dose steroids or natural remedies like oils and teas as supplemental options. A recurring theme was the importance of self-advocacy, switching doctors when necessary, and balancing the relief provided by medications like Tylenol with the long-term risks of liver damage from regular use.

Dr's can still write scripts for narcotics. The problem is a majority of Dr's do not want to write them because they don't want to deal with all the new regulations that are now in place. So that leads to bad news for us chronic pain patients. Dr.'s who prescribe narcotics have to purchase an additional license. I'm not sure of what that cost is.

Any meds like these can be dangerous when used regularly. I try not to take them at all unless I'm crying in pain. They can cause so many serious problems. What kind of pain are you having? Have you tried any natural stuff? I'm having luck with oils and teas lately.

Beware of too much Tylenol. I took pain medicine with Tylenol for a few years and had my liver inflamed and I'm only 28.
