Members rallied around the challenge of losing weight while managing chronic pain, with many sharing that they gained significant weight after diagnosis or from long-term steroid use. Several members offered practical strategies, including pool therapy for low-impact exercise, lap band surgery, portion control with smaller plates, carb counting, and drinking apple cider vinegar water to reduce inflammation. A recurring theme was finding creative alternatives when traditional exercise is not possible, celebrating every small victory, and recognizing that factors like medication side effects and menopause can complicate weight loss in ways that require patience and self-compassion.

My arms n legs can't tolerate any water movement with a temperature of less than 96°!!! My nerves start to shake and the pain becomes unbearable. But thanks for the suggestion.

I would recommend pool therapy! That is the best way to lose weight when you can't do much. It also helps the pain while you are in a pool because you feel weightless!

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member - that sounds like a good idea since I can't go out and ride a regular bike. I have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome / Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy in my arms n legs so I can't steer real well. I tried one of those riding shopping carts and ran over 2 people and knocked down 4 displays! Lol
