I too was switched to Tizanidine and it helps tremendously for my muscle cramps in my back and arm. But I don't know about those Fentynal patches. The doc tried me on those once also, but I read up good on them and was so scared about all the side effects and dangerous things that can happen while using them, so I went off them.

I had to stop taking flexeril for this reason, plus it made me sleepy and zapped my energy. He switched me to Tizanidine and it works for my muscle cramps as well without the side effects. As far as the pain med issue....talk to your doctor about a Fentynal patch. It helps me a lot

I use flexeril sometimes in conjunction with opiates to help my headaches because other methods didn't help. I have been on it for a long time and never had any problems except if I overtake it by accident it makes it hard to pee haha

It helps some with my migraines as we know tension/stress is high. However I had to take them for over 2 wks to see benefits. Got on it for shoulder injury and found that out. I get where I don't think it is really helping with spasms in neck and shoulder blade but if I stop taking it for a day or two I realize how much it is helping.
