I take Citalopram 40 mg per day. Suffer from sleeplessness at night but also horrible fatigue. Have restless leg syndrome and many other adverse side effects. Is there a safe alternative

Ask your doctor to check your vitamin levels. Most people are magnesium and vitamin D deficient. I use Magnesium Oil spray that helps with the cramping and pain in my legs.

I take lexapro which is escitapram. It's basically the positive ion of citalopram. I have tried both and do much better on lexapro.

I think most of us with chronic pain suffer from RLS, it seems to go with our other issues. I have found that a pillow under my knees often stops this, at least in my case it does. Also, the new gel memory foam topper I bought for my bed has different areas of comfort for different areas of the body. This has also helped my hips and legs a lot. That thing has been my savior when it comes to sleep and comfort. It is made by Simmons and has NO pressure points.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member, ask your psychiatrist about Trazodone aka Desyrel. Here is some info on it : http://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/tra...

I love my Trazadone for sleeping and colonopin at night for restless leg syndrome. Has helped me for yrs. I hope you get to feeling better. My chronic fatigue is terrible too, the struggle is real!
