I had two weeks of nerve blocks following a car accident. Prior to the nerve blocks I couldn't turn my head from side to side. Fortunately, the nerve blocks worked and they didn't hurt a but.

i had a lumbar nerve block last september (1st and only!). i woke up with the most excruciating lower back pain and it hasn't gone away. from what i've been able to find out, my reaction was unusual. for the actual procedure, i was thoroughly numbed (couldn't feel anything). between the numbing medication and the valium, i felt no pain...well, until i woke up. but again, from my research, my reaction was not the norm.

Ive had them when I had to have surgery on my knee to replace my acl mcl and tendons that were shredded. Ive had them 3 times. I have no issues with them except walking after its a little odd
