Did put me on Gababentin(sp). So far, it has helped some with the nerve pain, but I'm feeling kinda off in my head. I'm taking 200mg 3x a day. I almost feel like I'm in a brain fog, I fall asleep at random times, and I can't focus. Y'all had anything like this? Does it go away after my body gets used to the meds? I'm just curious before I go talk to the doc. Thanks y'all!

Members shared mixed experiences with Gabapentin for nerve pain, with many confirming that the brain fog, drowsiness, and difficulty focusing are common side effects that may lessen slightly over time but often persist even after years of use. Several members described their own journeys with the medication, ranging from low doses like 300mg to high doses exceeding 5000mg daily, with some finding the pain relief worth the side effects while others switched to Pregabalin or stopped the medication entirely due to weight gain, memory issues, and feeling disconnected from daily life. A recurring theme was the importance of working closely with a pain specialist to find the right balance between symptom relief and quality of life, with members emphasizing that every person responds differently and what works for one may not work for another.

I have been on gabapentin 600mgs for around 8 years now, I feel it helps me alot but I have fybro, RA and Ostio. so you need to remember what may be good for you and me may not work on others. The medication will settle down and it will be the least of your problems. (or at least I would assume so if your on this board, lol) The only medication I really had a TRUE PROBLEM with was called OPANA, and that almost took me out of here two times!!! Hang in there if you feel its working, and remember if you Doctor is good to you in general, IT TAKES TIME TO FINE TUNE YOUR PAIN to a point your "okay" (and of course it will change often and that's not yours or the Doctors fault. (Sadly I have been at this a while) But with the same Rheumatologist for around 11 years.

Please take care of you!
