How Do You Manage Your Medications When Memory Problems Are A Part Of Your Disease?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am curious as to how everyone with memory problems that comes with having diseases that contribute to memory loss. I do have my meds in a week pill holder. The problem is I don't know if I've taken them once or twice. I find at times the day of the week is missing, or I skip over a day. It's getting a bit scary for me.
Do y'all keep a record or something that helps you stay on track?

If you have someone who can help you fill your weekly pill containers that's a good start. I set alarms on my phone for every dose. When an alarm goes off I stop whatever I'm doing and take that compartment in my pill container. It's really a pain in the ass having alarms going off 11 times a day but If I don't do it that way I wouldn't stay on track. I don't know of a better way.

My chemist puts my meds in a blister pack the doctor has to authorise it but having so much meds to take and them changing I ended up taking a new antihistamine 3x a day instead off higher dose off painkillers and I got them to put in blister pack you get it weekly it's like pill organiser only you know if blister is not burst then you have not took meds this is in UK don't know if where you are they do it but you can always ask I was sick off getting carrier bag of meds and them all falling out and one month it was one manufacturer next another so never knew names off meds so this is much better and no more house full off meds xx

The only way I can keep up with my meds is to use a weekly pillbox. I have one that holds 7 days of pills for morning and evening. Once a week I sit down and really focus on sorting the pills into the correct bins. I am blessed not to have to take pain meds every 4 hours so the pillbox works well for me.

I have my meds in a monthly planner. I have 4 trays with 7 containers to each one, I only keep 1 tray out at a time... I use to look over my meds all the time when I had them in the bottle...
