I had ankle fusion in Dec of 2019 and my foot is still numb except for the heel and ankle area itself. I can walk on it fine, just barely little sensation.

Las summer I had 2 terrible falls in which i broke my knee cap and ankle on both sides. I've had blocks in that leg for surgery, and parts of my leg and ankle and heel are numb. Dr explains that the feeling will come back, it just takes time.

If your nerves regenerate they do it VERY slowly. I had a knee replacement 25 years ago and the skin over my knee is still numb! Just be careful so you do not cause more harm to your ankle because you don't have all of the sensation you had before surgery.

My husband had this done and he has little feeling because now he has little circulation in that foot.
