Members rallied around someone preparing for a permanent intrathecal pain pump implant after years of chronic pain from multiple spine surgeries, with many sharing their own experiences living with conditions like CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), a disorder that ranks among the highest on the pain scale and can worsen or spread over time. Several members described treatments that have helped them manage severe pain, including spinal cord stimulators, ketamine compound creams, medical marijuana, fentanyl patches, and intrathecal pumps that deliver medication directly to the spinal cord with fewer side effects than oral medications. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of chronic pain, including lost jobs, strained relationships, sleepless nights, and the importance of finding community support, loyal friends who understand, and hope through new treatment options that restore quality of life.
