Has Anyone Tried Chiropractic? Has It Helped Reduce Any Of The Pain?

I just found out my straight medicaid will pay for 18 visits with no co pay then medicare picks up for ten dollar co-pay. I cannot start until next month because no-funds for transportation but willing to give it a try. Even if it takes only a 1 down on the pain scale i'm ranging from an 8 to 9 lately. So very willing to get that scale lowered.

I've been doing Chiropractic care for 30 years. It is very helpful for pain. Find a Chiropractor that does ART- Active Release Treatment or Therapy. It is way better and helps put your body back in place.

I have been reading chiropractor's may do more harm than good. I went twice and they wanted to to do spinal decompression which costs $1500.00 and my insurance won't cover it. I talked to my PA and she said it doesn't work. She used to work for a chiropractor when she first got her degree. I have heard how they make pain worse and even heard of them killing people because of adjustments made to their neck which caused a strokes.

@TrishScruton-Hello,I can't do any chiropractic at all!! I have such Bad osteoperosis, that It could break my back if I tried to have an alignment!! I used to go when my back would hurt, and sometimes my neck would just all of a sudden go completely stiff, and I couldn't turn my head. It would Always get Better after I went in and had an alignment done!! There are still days that I wish I could go, and get my back put back into place,it always felt so good afterwards, and when they would do the neck adjustment it always gave me a head rush, and felt like the circulation was going back to my head again. I can't even gat back surgery,I went to a surgeon that does higher risky operation's,and she sad that I could end up paralized if I ever got back surgery, due to the severity of my bones being so brittle!! I was Very dissapointed, cause I have Never been Afraid of surgeries,I've had quite a few of them,so I was hoping to get my back fixed!!! If I didn't Have an issue,YES I would use chiropractic for chronic back issues!!! I truly believe in chiropractic care!! I think it works A LOT Better then acupuncture,I've had both, and chiropractic alignment's worked so much more for me!!! I'm Glad that you are going to give it a try,I think it will help you with your back!!!! Hugs!!!--Jwisey

@sheliaspeers wow you've had a tough road. I hope the appointment with the neurosurgeon both goes well and gives you hope. pt never helped me either. haven't been able to get injections because of allergies to aspirin and doctors don't want to use steroids. also the pain management place i was at was titrating me down too fast and i developed a flo-vent heart murmur which could of killed me. back to other doc . btw all docs in my area are cutting off low-income chronic pain patients with zero history of substance abuse. It is totally un-ethical but have zero choice. but enough about me. hugs to you and wishing you very hopeful news.
