I live with chronic pain and watch life go by from my recliner. I used to be a nurse and was too busy to watch tv.
Life looks a lot different from my recliner. I wondered what others like to watch on TV. I can't sew anymore and can only knit for awhile before my hands go numb.

Members connected over the question of what to watch on TV while managing chronic pain from a recliner, with many sharing how they've shifted from never having time for television to now relying on it as a comforting companion and distraction from pain. Several members recommended cutting cable in favor of streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, CuriosityStream, and YouTube, with favorite genres ranging from crime dramas and sci-fi shows to documentaries on National Geographic and BBC programming. A recurring theme was how television serves multiple purposes: helping members fall asleep at night, providing mental distraction during flare-ups, keeping them connected to the world when physical limitations prevent other activities, and offering a sense of normalcy and relaxation in lives dramatically changed by chronic illness.

I enjoy the crime shows, like Criminal Minds, for example. I love Blacklist. Just finished watching a series called :"Alias Grace." based on a novel by Margaret Atwood.......incredibly good. I watch Coronation Street because, though Canadian born, my ancestry on both sides is /british, and all of my relatives live there. I love documentaries and David Suzuki's "The Nature of Things." The Big Bang is a fun comedy. I watch The View, The Talk, The Social,,,,,all keep me up to date on issues. There's more, but way too much to mention. I never used to watch a lot of TV, but now it is a life saver......distracts me from my pain and keeps me relaxed. It entertains, when i cannot do a lot......which is often.
