Curious about CBD oil and if it alone, without THC component helps pain.

I have tried CBD weed and it did little for pain. Indica 70% Sativa 30% is what works well for me. Currently from my LP, Broken Coast, I prefer Kosher Kush at 18.2% THC and less than .04 CBD. The LP categorizes each batch and advises for day or night time use, flavour/taste, etc.
Every pain doctor I have had offers THC as an option. You can easily make your own canna butter then make brownies or cookies or cakes.... Ask your pain doctor, they will do the paperwork. If you want Broken Coast, go on their site and print off forms. In BC but it overnights with CanPar anywhere in Canada. Sorry states.

I've tried different strains of weed, the THC waxy stuff (my dispensary calls it "shatter") that you smoke through one of those vape pens. I thought long and hard about my motives, whether I'm chasing the high or if the THC varieties actually do help more. I have found that smoking or ingesting THC (the gumdrops are good) right before bed (while walking my dog) helps me to sleep for longer periods of time without waking up due to the pain/spasms. I also welcome the "munchies," because my appetite is practically nil and I've lost 65 lbs - too much. Maybe the THC makes me just not "care" about it as much, or maybe it is actually treating the pain. I've stopped debating myself and keep my business to myself, my doctor, and among you dear friends who I depend on because you get it.

I guess there is still THC in it, just not enough to be psychoactive. I looked for THC Free CBD oil and couldn't find any as they don't have any yet. They would have to take a lot of the good stuff to remove all the THC. So for me, it would be like drinking an "alcohol free" beer (which really isn't alcohol free) and hoping the urges don't come back. I have to get used to the fact that is is going to be all around me. People will stink of the stuff everywhere I go.

Then there is the fact that will be a lot of impaired drivers. They have no really good tests for THC levels in people yet. I was hit by an impaired driver who ruined my life 25 years ago. How do you know when you are safe enough to drive? You don't.

Hi @A MyChronicPainTeam Member I got my license and used for a few months. I am in recovery and can't do that. It did help for my fibromyalgia pain significantly. It is the CBD in the weed that brings this effect, not the THC. The THC gets you high. I used to always get the high THC content as my primary reason for using was to get high. And cannabis not as safe as it is touted. There is a ton of positive propaganda about it, but not very much negative, at all. Two options would be to use a high CBD strain that won't get you very high, such as Charlotte's Web or use the oil, which doesn't necessarily have to contain any THC. I do miss it and I REALLY CRAVE it. It was very difficult to quit. Just my experience.

I use salve with CBD and I really like the effect on pain. If I'm trying to get to sleep and pain is keeping me from nodding off, a little salve with CBD does the trick. I don't find it as effective if I'm have stabbing pain. Hugs, Jean
