If it is of any help - I have taken so many kinds of pain medications that nothing works for me either. Had to call the dr to visit last week as thought my back was about to cave in. I dont have sharp pain but one big ache whole length of spine. What did my dr prescribe? Pills I had taken from way back and told to take for 2 weeks and then go to the surgery to see if they had helped. Ha - of course they didnt work....I see a different dr every time I have to visit surgery - thats the way it is in the UK. Most of them have recently graduated and look about 18 so how can they have any experience on osteo arthritis. The NHS is so short of funding they wont refer me for an MRI scan nor refer me to a consultant. So I have so many happy days ahead of me ......am in my late 70's and dread to think too far ahead. At least I can share with you all ...

Have you been referred to the Pain Management team? I was referred after my car accident and they've been pretty good with advice, meds reviews and steroid injections. Ive had CBT which was helpful too.
