Shingles Nerve Pain
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had shingles in September of 2017, it was on my right shoulderblade with a small amount going down my right arm and on my right chest. Now with small fiber neuropathy in my legs, it seems like the pain in my back and down my arm has increased. Not sure if it's connected to carpal tunnel syndrome or shingles nerve damage. Any ideas? I've got an appointment with surgeon for carpal tunnel tomorrow, maybe he'll have some answers.

I had shingles 7 or 8 yrs before developing transverse myelitis....I am truly believing the myelitis is a result of having shingles.......I have suffered with major inner knee pain since then..At this time, I have found noone that can help me....other than possibly doing the spinal stimulator.......let me know if doc believes your problems could have come from shingles....the nerve damage was up in my spine and they tell me I have spinal cord damage......so I am told to try stimulator to see if it helps?????? I have had shots in back and knees.....nothing.....Help and good luck to you. Someone should be able to come up with some good ideas....thanks

I tried, wasn't old enough. To late now, although I have heard that if you've had shingles, you can now get the shot.

Have continual irritation on face and left eye do to Shingles. Just have to live with it. If I let hair get too long over that area just hurts! Never goes away. Damaged eye. Get Shingles shot! I never realized how bad it could be

I don't know if having arthirtis made it worse but shingles on my face and head was so horrible! I have scars and neurapthy to the point that it has affected my left eye and nerves on my face. Thought I had been bit by a spider!! It might be worth the money. Between all the meds and docs (eye too) not covered. Lost about 4 months. And Son's wedding in there . Wore so much make up I looked dead! I don't wear makeup! One continual round of pleasure my dad used to say
