Is DEA Going To Crack Down On Those Who Take Pain Meds For Real Pain More Than What They Have Done Already?

My husband told me that Pres. Trump said he’d like to do away with half of all pain meds use! I’ve been on pain meds off and on from 21 to mid 30’s since I had received approx. 20+ surgeries in that time. Then 20 years ago ruptured L-4 and L-5, L-5 S-1. Pain was unbearable . I’ve been on them straight since then , Oct 21st at 1:10 pm ,1997. You don’t forget the date that changed your life. I’ve been treated like a drug seeker all my life on meds. Once and awhile you’ll find a dr who knows pain… read more

I have a new pain management dr because I have a baclofen pump and my pain management dr eliminated dealing with pumps at his practice so he sent me to a new dr I like very much ever though I have to jump through more hoops with signing contracts, drug testing , counting my pills and even wants someone to come with you to most visits. I don’t complain and do what I have to do to get my pain treated for multiple pain disorders that is caused by my lupus.

I here you and have suffered from the same attitudes. I love my pain management doc and have seen over 3 years his mounting frustration with the DEA telling them how to do his job.

I have many longtime friends going to the same clinic because pain management docs are leaving Hawaii in droves because of all the DEA oversight. My friends pain is so bad that he pees & poops cuz of his level 10+ pain.

Then the DEA informs his doc that he needs to taper him off the meds even though theres no improvement at all. Dr. was pissed. Then I see my friend 2 weeks later in the waiting room & it turns out we both had nervous breakdowns over the weekend because out pain is out of control.

I don't know why your docs are doing what they do but I can honestly tell you that if my doc gave me what I need to stay safe but if theres even a trace of THC ( medically legal in Hawaii ), alcohol, etc & Doc writes me a RX that helped me 11 months ago then the DEA will take away his medical license.

So tired of being judged because I'm all bust up physically. I just know for a fact here in Hawaii that the DEA gave the docs no choice. They definitely didn't side with them and know being in pain is being punished.

I'm so sick of it. My prayers are with you.

Thank you. I guess people that live with pain don’t get out much nor de we sleep much! Your right talking is good. I don’t talk to anyone about it really.
