Actually that is not accurate,it is an old drug and since there are so many newer better antidepressants it is rarely used that way. However like several others,it was found to also work very well for pain and is commonly used that, among other things. Like most drugs, it is an individual thing as what helps.
The Embeda I'm asking about is a time released morphine with naltrexone.
Has anyone heard or use Hysingla!
Its new clinical. It helps with lessen morning muscle & my bone pain. But, im still having to take norco inbetween. Im at a PL4-6 EVERY day. Whats a kickass pain pill I can work thru.
I believe Embeda is the generic name or the name brand for amitryptiline. If you google it and find that it is, it is more of an antidepressant than a pain reliever. Most PM docs are now treating the depression that comes with long term pain... they don’t tell you when they order it that it is an antidepressant. Make sure that the dose is low. I had a cardiologist order it, I thought it was for my mitral valve prolapse, and he hwas ad me on 150mg at bedtime. At the time I was caring for an infant and a toddler and I was hallucinating!! So try a small dose and it may help you sleep, but don’t let them prescribe higher doses if you need to have your wits about you at night! Bet of luck!
