llnniemae, you did not waste my time, you took the time to reply and I appreciated it, please do not ever think what you have to say is less helpful than that of others, everyone's experience is different yet in a way very similar and we can all take away something from that.
I am happy to hear that your husband's treatment worked and life has improved for him and hopefully you too as a result.
It is not always easy being the carer, everything changes and things are put on hold, all you can do is go with the flow, for every negative there is always a positive.
Lorn :)

I’m just wondering if he has been tested for autoimmune diseases? I was diagnosed with Adult Onset Still’s Disease about 10 months ago and out of the 4 meds my RA dr prescribed the prednisone seems to help the most. Some drs and some patients don’t want to use it because of the long term affect of lengthy therapy but I would give up my pain med-suboxone before I’d give up my prednisone. As soon as I start a taper the muscle and joint pain and weakness starts creeping in then my temp goes higher than 99,100. Add that to my other health problems and I crumble. If you don’t have a high out of pocket on your blood work maybe you can ask them to see if he has an autoimmune disease. Maybe he can check his temperature everyday even if he doesn’t feel warm and see if it’s normal? Just a thought.

I’m so sorry that he’s in this situation and truly sorry for not looking into your/his history on here and wasting your time. I really hope they will do surgery on the herniated disk because my husband had one and they did surgery and he was back at work 4 days later. He doesn’t have all the other problems that your husband has but he was in really bad shape with his back. Thoughts and prayers to you both!

Iam in same situation, had severe pain in lower back L5 S1.My pain has really been chronic since 2012. Got so bad I had too quit job at post office. Long story short I tried therapy, bought a tens unit and was on list for pain clinic when I fell and hurt shoulder, which put my back pain on hold in 2015,because I was receiving oxycodone for my shoulder. Finally got in pain clinic in October of 2017 were my sciatica nerve pain was at its peak,it radiate from right hip down to foot. I could barley touch the ground with it. I was prescribed oxycodone 10 milligrams and gabenpentin 600. The gabenpentin help the most. But it was until i had the epidural shot that i got 75% relief. I would recommend this to your husband, maybe something to consider. Unfortunately this clinic shut down affecting over 56,000 people in the southeastern United States in August 1 of this year. I had shot in March and I had relief for 3 months prior to it wearing off. I can relate with your husband and hope he finds relief, for me I have found another Dr. But can not get in until mid December

I’m so sorry that your husband is going through so much. But I want you to know that you are amazing to be so supportive. I wish I had that with my husband. I’ve worked in the medical field for over 15 yrs and it sounds like he has several different things going on. He needs to have a good internal med dr not just a gp of family practice as his primary care. They have a little more education than a gp or fp. I good internal med dr will usually be hard to get into but worth the wait. I know that I probably didn’t help much but a really good Dr is what he needs. My thoughts and prayers go out to you both.
