Members deeply related to the struggle of overwhelming fatigue and falling asleep unexpectedly during simple activities, with many sharing that even the smallest tasks can trigger an irresistible need to sleep that feels like life is passing them by. Several members offered practical suggestions, including getting bloodwork done to rule out deficiencies, trying protein shakes or ginseng tea for natural energy support, using 5-hour energy drinks cautiously if heart-healthy, and spreading out medications throughout the day to reduce compounded drowsiness. A recurring theme was the recommendation to pursue a sleep study to rule out conditions like narcolepsy or sleep apnea, as medical causes should be investigated before attempting lifestyle changes alone.

Try an energy drink if your hearts ok. Our bodies crave vitamins. I like 5 hr.energy. No buzz and really helps.

Hi @A MyChronicPainTeam Member
All I can suggest is that 1st you might want to make sure there isn't a medical reason. Maybe get some blood work done to make sure you aren't low on something. Things that have helped me are..protein shakes and ginseng tea. When I first tried ginseng tea I noticed I was waking up more alert and felt like I got a good nights sleep. However, I discovered if you overdo it...it's kind of like having too much coffee. So if you do try it, I'd go slow and see how it affects you. Good luck, wish you all the best. Take care.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member, are you on heavy medications? I take many medications that all have the side affects of sleepiness. Sometimes spreading them out over the day and not mixing them will help to not fall asleep in places where it is an embarrassment to wake up. But there is also the orrside of the coin to think about. When you wake up think about how comfortable you were around these people and what was gong on, that you were comfortable enough to take a nap... it works for m, hope it helps you. Don’t be sorry for anything you can not control!
