I think you have to work at not letting yourself get into the self pity state. I would recommend, that you look at a new activity, that would interest you, that you could do. I'm not suggesting you do what I do, but these are some of the things that I have done, that has given me a "good" life: Knitting, Crocheting actually just about any craft. Genealogy is good for me because all I need is my lab top. I love to read, but do it with a kindle as it is easier for me to hold. When I first got into pain, 23 years ago, I spent years on the couch. It was very far into this journey when I decided that my happiness was my responsibility.

I further suggest, that when your mind is distracted, by activities that you enjoy, the pain is more tolerable.

Hugs, Jean

When pain is bad I find that laying in bed with my body pillow and breathing slow while laying very still can help some. Remembering that the pain is not me, I am experiencing it.

Hey Willmien , interesting question that denotes you have studied it, as most of your questions. My advice is to respect and accept your own perceptions and appreciations of what is going on . It is clear you search, and find many answers but you do not have confidence. I have always found your questions pertinent, but most are a searching to see if you are right in thinking the way you do. If you profit positively from it, it is good, if not change it. Is best i can do for now.

TerryMiles I totally agree! I've had no problems navigating around this site. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€ͺπŸ™„@Wilmean;having a bad day is okay, LIVING in that bad is NOT. It's the difference between listening to our bodies & pushing them past our pain threshold to where we hurt ourselves more. We've all done that!! πŸ˜©πŸ˜£πŸ˜–For me, doing something physical or artistic helps me w/my mental/emotional state. It doesn't have to be long, 5-15 min. Just enough to to get me out of whatever mindset I was in. Going for a walk, puttering in my yard, sketching, journaling, find something that interests you that Sparks that positiveness. πŸŒΊπŸ’–πŸ˜ Hugs to you!πŸ¦‹πŸ’πŸ˜Š
