Anyone Else Heard Of Their Pain Called Central Sensitization?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question ๐Ÿ’ญ

So I had my appointment with the pain clinic yesterday and after going through all the questions on the form and talking with the doctor, he told me I deal with central sensitization and unfortunately there's nothing that will help me. Injections into the various areas where I deal with pain would only enhance the pain that I am already in which is not what he wants me to feel. So here's my question then? Anyone else deal with this type of pain and what do you do when all medications, short ofโ€ฆ read more

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member not to worry...I know people that are in that boat of having found medications that work for them and have been either cut back or cut off because of the guidelines that have come forward to prevent addictions and overdoses. If only the medical doctors and politicians would understand what it is like to be in such pain on a daily basis and then understand the difference between addiction and misuse of these medication as opposed to just taking them as the doctor prescribed in the first place.
I hope that with the breakthroughs in medical marijuana that something out there will be on the horizon for treatments.

central sensitization = bologna That is garbage. You are in pain. You need pain medication. It makes me angry when I hear stuff like this. I have a bad back and neck. I have a good internal doctor. He gives me some oxycodone and gabapentin. I have been on the same dose for almost 20 years so I have built up a situation where it doesn't work like it used to. When I was working, I was able to take oxycontin which is a lot better than the generic stuff that I take now. I am fortunate to take pain meds though, so many people are getting cut off.

Personally I use CBD for internal I use one that has 300mg in 1oz. I use a 0.5 ml twice a day. That is a water soluble. 5mg of CBD per dose. The other that I use is topical cream or balm with CBD that has 500 mg in 2 oz . I apply this probably every 2 hours. I use just a little on the tip of my finger it covers about a 4x4 inch area of my back. Do your research, look up the 10 or 30 best CBD companies. I wish I could tell you which ones I use here but I can't, due to community guidelines. I'm also looking into one that offer a much higher dose. like 1,500 mg per oz for both internal and balm. There are some reputable companies out there, because not all of them are. Some offer discounts for people who are vets or long term disability. Do your research. When dealing with my back pain for the last 9 years I essentially have no disc between my L5 S1 I have used a variety of pain meds. The problem with opioids is there is no ceiling. It got ridiculous. I now use about 10% of a dose of what I used 4 years ago. I weaned my self down as low as I could go.CBD has helped me tremendously. Acupuncture has also worked.

Monique,
Here's the REAL problem. They don't care! And if it's not making them a dollar, you might as well forget about it, because you flat out just don't exist to them!! And that's EXACTLY the bottom line. i ALWAYS took my meds as directed. Passed all my pill counts & piss test. Therefore, I in no, way , shape, or form was misusing my meds. And I wasn't addicted, I built a tolerance to them, which there IS a difference. The longer you're on them, ( opiates) your body gets used to them, and of course your brain needs more. Doesn't mean you're addicted..just your body needs more of it ..you don't get crazy or anything. Some days , I didn't need hardly any. Or, I'd forget to take them, like, when my husband first came home from the hospital, I bet I didn't take maybe 2 a day, because I was so busy with him. And I was able to have 6 a day. So, right there tells me that I'm not addicted. Am I right, or what? Then to all of a sudden have them taken AWAY??
Not right! Just because these Drs. are afraid to be Doctors?? When they know that these opiates work? And us older people shouldn't have to pay the price of this
" WAR ON DRUGS"???
I'm fed up! Why should we have to suffer and have NO Quality of Life?

MoniqueRobinson,
And of course, you had the opiates taken away. The ones THAT worked for you..right? Because WE are left paying the ultimate price for this WAR ON OPIATES ! And I think it's Rediculous!! And NOW..where I live..Drs. won't write ANY scripts for pain meds AT ALL! For fear of the government!
