I've had my gallbladder removed. It was not fun, but it was a whole lot better than the gallstones. So, congratulations ^_^ ! I know you're probably feeling a whole lot better now. Just watch out for spicy foods now, since your gallbladder won't be there to protect you from the results anymore (talk about some serious acid indigestion, yikes!).

I had Gallbladder surgery at age 19, back in 1972. They did not have Laparoscopic surgery at that time. It was a major surgery, requiring a large abdominal incision. I had post operative hemorrhaging, that required going back to surgery again, to tie off a bleeder. I also had a post operative infection. They only long term effects, have been chronic diarrhea. My GB was full of stones. I was relieved, to no longer, have bouts of extreme abdominal pain. The Laproscopic Cholecystectomy, has a much shorter recovery time, I believe you will be going that direction. I think you will be free of abdominal pain, and carry on life as usual for you. I am a board certified Registered Nurse.
