I've had 4 cervical surgeries with the last 2 bring within less than 24 hours of each other. The surgeon promised me I would be pain-free. That was the biggest lie I've ever heard! I'm in constant pain ever since he did those!
When I had my first cervical surgery the surgeon told me that since I injured my spine it would get worse above or below. Well the visit afterwards he informed me that mine got worse above AND below!!! He was right on that as I am now pretty well fused throughout my neck and have hardware also.
I would recommend to anyone considering cervical or back surgery to try anything and everything else besides surgery...
