I'm Set To Have Surgery Soon. What To Expect?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question ๐Ÿ’ญ

I'm set to have surgery on my right foot for 2 torn tendons soon. With already having fibromyalgia, other nerve pain and severe osteoporosis what should I expect?
Do you think the surgery will affect the fibromyalgia? And my Dr's biggest concern is that the surgery will cause CRPS.
I hurt my foot nearly a year ago. I've been wearing a boot and brace ever since hoping it would heal. It's not healing so my Dr said he's going to have to go in and graft the tendons.
Thank you all in advance โ˜บ๏ธ ๐Ÿ’ž

Why not ask him to follow the CRPS protocol for surgery? See what he says, it can't hurt.

Hi Judy ๐Ÿฅฐ, I tore the tendons nearly a year ago and they just won't heal. I've severely torn the tendon at the front of my ankle that comes up and a partial tear in the side of my ankle that comes around and up the back up my leg. He has to go in and graft the tendons now. I've put this surgery off for quite a while hoping the air cast boot and the ankle brace would help. But I need to rest and stay off of it and that hasn't been an option for me at all. I work in a medical office anywhere from 40-50 hours a week and I go home and take care of two grown men (husband and son) and 2 dogs. I don't get a lot of help from my guys and talking/complaining to them doesn't help.
I'll research and see what other options there are. I haven't had time or money to go get a 2nd opinion.

How are you doing?

Thank you ๐Ÿ’“ ๐Ÿ˜Š

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member hello to you my friend and I donโ€™t want to have any surgery or even nerve ablations as once itโ€™s done it canโ€™t be undone. Just my opinion okay ๐Ÿ‘Œ

So, can you get another option or another opinion before the surgery?โ€™

I was offered nerve ablation and instead my doctor authorised me to have two pain injections in the muscle above my right hip for the severe Sciatica and it worked wonderfully snd I donโ€™t get the pain now

Hugs from Judyxx
