"Treatment" Option?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone else's pain management doctor gone so far as to suggest that PAS, physician assisted suicide, is "an option" for treating your intractable pain? Since when has this " treatment" been acceptable!?

Well I thought about that myself. It is not available in Texas.
I'm not sure of my future. No my pain mgmt has not suggested it.
Only more RFAS TPIS. Seeing nueorlogist 9.8 to discuss thoracic and lumbar MRIs
Don't want any more surgeries.
5.3.22 had 8 level laminectomy. Horrible recovery!
Simply don't understand why a pain mgmt Doctor would suggest medical suicide OMG!!
Did you state anything about death? 50000million Americans are under treated and horribly suffering.
WE DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH OPIOID EPIDEMIC. BUT OUR GOVT IS PLAYING PAIN MGMT DOCTORS!!!
Good luck and take it easy. Some people say 1 day or step at a time. Karen xx

Time for a new Dr. That Dr should be reported!
Have you tried Kratom for pain? I’m legally disabled due to the severe pain I’ve had since birth and for many, many years I was a “legal addict”. For the past 7 yrs I’ve only taken Kratom for my pain. It’s natural, made from a plant. It’s not a narcotic so there’s no prescription needed, it’s legal almost everywhere and it’s affordable.
It’s not addictive, but you can become dependent on it just like you can become dependent on caffeine, nicotine, etc. I skip doses & days to avoid dependency and I’ve gone as long as 12 days without taking any and have never once gone through withdrawal.

I've been cut down to only 4 7.5 mg oxy a day. Morphine ex 30mg was 6 days late was already in withdrawing looked up withdrawing symptoms and my body felt softer even with 4 withdrawing symptoms! Lack of sleep ended up in er that Saturday am and pa not dr told me it was my choice to stop!!! Pain mgmt said same. Said I was terrified to start it again and now I can't even get 5. Gonna ask this month for 1 more and make them 10mg. That's only 50mg a day!

Had a life with a minimum of 60mg er Morphine every 12 hrs. 120mg a day!
They could get me up to 70mgs but Valium is also a controlled substance so they take 20mg away with DEA current limit of 90mme.

I'm so sad and have to lay in bed off spine to try to get relief of Mother Nature's gravity 😢 2 or 3xs a day. DO NOT WANT TO BE BEDRIDDEN!!

What hope do we have? Under-treated
Pain Warriors are 51.5 million in America per Pain News Network, org. Great advocates for all chronic pain patients. Look them up. They email me.
We didn't start the OPIOD EPIDEMIC!!!

If you have read my long post thanks for reading!!!

I wouldn't just someone if they choose suicide and that is there decision. However, I don't think a doctor should ever suggest that choice for a non terminal condition.
