Ask your primary doctor to refer you to a pain management doctor who can help you start a treatment plan. My advice is, don't take steroid injections for pain control because they caused my hip joints to die and now I need total hip replacements surgery on both sides. It's important to know that finding what works is often a process of trial and error. Some medications or treatments will work, and some won't—but that's normal and expected. Effective pain management typically involves more than just medication. The most successful approaches often combine:
• Pain medications (both narcotic and non-narcotic options)
• Physical therapy or exercise
• Activities like yoga or meditation
• Working with a team that includes doctors, physical therapists, and other specialists
Don't give up hope if the first approach doesn't work perfectly. Keep communicating with your healthcare provider about what's helping and what isn't, so adjustments can be made to improve your quality of life.
