Yes, pain definately takes the old appetite away!
Losing weight is not a bad thing as long as you're doing it the healthy way. If you'e carrying extra weight, then cutting the carbs IS GOLDEN. Cutting the sugar is GOLDEN. Cutting salty crackers and sauces IS GOLDEN. It works. And you will loose lbs. Be sure to consult a "trusted " physician with what you're doing expecially is you have diabetes, so that you don't drop or elevate blood sugar too drastically. Im no doctor, but when my nerve damage in my knee pain (now CRPS) was so bad, I figured that losing pounds meant less stress on my knee would be the answer. Not only did dropping the few pounds help, but I began being MINDFUL of EVERY THING I put in my mouth. Ask your doctor or diatician about avocados, walnuts, unsalted pumpkin seeds, kale, blueberries...I have a whole lot more in my upcoming book(current title but may change), "Behind Pills Lies Pain, Beyond Pain Lives Purpose," These foods are sooooo delish when prepared propely, yet few doctors talk about them when it comes to chronic pain. They are filling when prepared properly and I swear by my smoothies' recipe which helped me loose pounds which helped ease my pain. Just a suggestion... Have a blessed weekend-

When you live with chronic pain, you often can't eat enough.
Pain kills appetite, makes cooking exhausting, and nausea from pain, pain meds makes food hard to eat. Complan provides calories, protein, and 26 vitamins and minerals when I can't manage solid food due to chronic pain. It helps give me energy, supports muscle strength so I don't waste away, and gives my body the vitamins it needs to support my immune system and recovery, while I'm unable to eat properly.
The dangers of not eating when in pain
Loss of energy and severe fatigue no fuel means your pain feels worse and you can't function
Muscle wasting and weakness your body starts breaking down muscle for energy
Slower healing and weaker immune system more prone to infections and wounds healing slowly,
Dizziness, low blood pressure and brain fog from low blood sugar
Vitamin and mineral deficiencies which can cause hair loss, brittle nails, poor concentration and mood changes
Why electrolytes matter too
When you aren't eating or drinking enough, you lose not just water but essential salts sodium, potassium, magnesium.
Taking electrolytes helps to
Stay hydrated properly water alone isn't enough if you haven't eaten
It prevents dizziness, headaches and extreme fatigue
Reduce muscle cramps, weakness and heart palpitations
Support nerve function and brain focus which are vital when your body is already under stress from pain
If you're going through this regularly, it's really important to speak to your GP, pharmacist or dietitian about it. They can check that Complan and electrolytes are suitable for you and make sure there isn't a safe longer term plan. Take care Peps 🌺
Whenever my pain is high I will not be eating due to lack of appetite. I don't know how someone could have an appetite when pain is at its worse.
Yes, I've always been tiny but a few years ago it got really bad, I was only 6 stone something. This past year I've done really well and put on over 2 n half stone. I do get a powder that puts weight on. Mix it with the milk of your choice and fruit. Complan.
It helps enormously 🥰
