i do go for massage once in awhile and omg it hurts at the time but i suffer through it and the next day i feel so much better...deep tissue massage is what i do, ive also heard hot stones work great but i have not done it yet...i just called a massage place and asked if they could just work on any certain area i needed and they do whatever you need

no I havent...haven't even heard of it until today! but have you tried the exercise with the tennis ball, it's very effective, but short term relief, so you need to keep it up. Just press the tennis ball in the sciatic area while you lie down, feel it press as it moves the bum muscle out of the way and lets the sciatic nerve relax. I've found it to be very helpful for me as I do a lot of walking in my job.

I had massages done and it feels really great when they are doing it but pain comes back immediately after.

when my sciatica is really bad I can't sit upright, so eating at the table is difficult, I put the tennis ball right under my leg at the top where it meets my buttock, the pressing on the nerve gives me some peace and I get to eat dinner in a lot less pain!
