Had Anyone Ever Had There Belly Swell Like This?

A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭
Monrovia, IN

Wednesday I became nauseated, nothing unusual. Thursday my whole abdomin was nauseated. My stomach doesn't hurt, just everything else. I did not eat all day except a bowl of cereal very early a.m. and some crackers late p.m. for meds.. Yesterday late afternoon I noticed my abdomin was swelling more and more. I look like I am 8 months pregnant and am very uncomfortable. Anyone else's abdomin swell like this?

Members rallied around someone experiencing sudden and severe abdominal swelling that made them look months pregnant, offering both solidarity and practical advice rooted in their own experiences. Several members shared similar stories of unexplained bloating, suggesting possible causes like bowel obstruction, gluten sensitivity, medication side effects (especially blood thinners), liver inflammation, and flare-ups of IBS or diverticulosis, with many urging an immediate doctor visit or ER trip to rule out serious complications. A recurring theme was the deep frustration of living with chronic digestive issues that leave doctors baffled and patients cycling through endless tests with few answers, yet the community remained a source of comfort and encouragement to keep advocating and searching for relief.

OK. But its the waiting. ....endlessly....why is it that there is so Many of us are in pain and yet nobody will say or do anything. There is no cure or no way out of this misery.... Just, 'manage' the pain!!!!!!

Wendy , you sound like me last night. So frustrating when pain cant be controlled and dr.s at a loss. I have a diagnosis but the conventional treatment doesnt seem to be working for me. It is easy to feel totally adrift with no support from medical system. Im going to start looking outside the box. Problem with that though is alternate therapies are usually really expensive. Hopefully some relief for all of us in the future. Xoxo

I have had abdominal swelling, when wa your last bowel motion as its possible you may have a bowel obstuction. Though they are usually quite painfull with pain that comes and goes like your in labor or you may just be constipated. I'd see the doctor if you haven't been moving your bowels of late.
