My question, has anyone ever tried Bowen Therapy for their pain? I am considering it for a fractured R lower leg of 4 yrs...a lady gave my daughter a card and said tell your Mum I can help with her chronic pain!! So nice of her but before I jump into it I just thought to ask...I suffer Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome, Nerve Pain and bone pain in R lower leg and have not at all been able to walk since 2012 and thx in advance for any answers π
Bowen is unlike anything I have ever tried before.. Massage , physio and anything hands on hurts me as I hate being touched (there goes my love like lol) but with bowen trigger points are activated with a gentle touch and then the person doing the bowen walks out of the room and lets your body heal itself... I went for a long time without anything happening, but the first time it did work was amazing... kinda like acupuncture without the needles. I have masses of nerve damage, hip issues and fibro just to name a few, so I would say try it, you have nothing to loose. Explain everything as best you can when you have your first appt and go from there
Donnell,if you have deep musculoskeletal pain, ever have enjoyed a massage, I would go for it! My arthritic pain at age 17, responded over the years to a loved digging into the deepest muscles, which know knotted up,if I didn't stretch and walk, excerise for 45 minutes daily.Today, Still my legs kill me,if I don't walk. But, be back to Bowenwork, I can't recall exactly what the goal is,but I am all for bodywork, and hands on touch, whatever modalities you choose, find a good one with experience and that's my 2 cents worth!Off to my lavender Epsom salt bath.chamomile vanilla tea to calm my stomach and my day is complete!
Thx @A MyChronicPainTeam Member Sounds like I need to do this and soon my nerve pain is the worst and by the sounds of your experience as I believe 110% in alternate therapies even accupuncture so thx so much I truly appreciate your wonderful advice ππ€
Thankyou @A MyChronicPainTeam Member that is a great help my daughter knows a lady through her school friends so I spoke to her & said I am coming to see you just saving up so I get regular sessions not broken up ones....thx so much it sounds like it is worth doing for my body & my mind, sending hugs π€π
Hi @A MyChronicPainTeam Member sorry I am still only a newish member and wanted to say THANKYOU for your suggestionI cannot walk and if they touched my R lower leg I may object!! If any treatment that has helped you with Nerve Pain is the first pain I need to deal with its unending at times and yeah best way to describe it is holding onto an ekectric fence whilst standing in a creek ( did that as a horse riding child) maybe will give it or Accupuncture a go, a man in Singapore (from there) as we travelled through their airport in 2014 didn't touch my leg but ran his hand about an inch from it and I had no pain for 3 weeks I couldn't understand what therapy that was but best I've had!! I hope that you have a painfree weekend Melinda smiles Donella
