Has Anyone Tried Gabapentin Also Called Neurotin For Their Chronic Pain?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question ๐Ÿ’ญ

I have had nerve like pain for a year and counting and was put on Gabapentin quite some time ago. Turns out this was a very bad choice has anyone else had negative side effects from using Gabapentin? What helps you now?

I've been on Neurontin and Lyrica. The most noticeable effect was how quickly I gained a ton of weight and looked like a bloated, cartoon version of the self I once remembered. Now I don't take either, and I'm glad of it. The pain hasn't changed one way or the other, and I quickly dropped the weight. Thank God we are at least enlightened enough here in Massachusetts to allow medicinal cannabis. I don't know how I would do my life without it. It's absolutely ridiculous that alcohol and "e-cigarettes" are easily available everywhere, but a natural and effective remedy is illegal and out of reach for those who really need it and would benefit from it without taking opioids.

"a bit flat"?!! Omg. What world do some of these Dr live in?? Clueless. I pray you are doing better. Every day is a challenge and we all have the added burden of our disease. Some days it's so very very hard. I've learned to appreciate every small pleasure and hold on to those moments. Best to you

Brenna, you are very rare with using gabapentin and not feeling it's messed up feeling most people get from that horrible drug. you should be their poster child, to me it's the worse drug around, seriously.
