Root Canal And Fibro/Chronic Mouth Pain?
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am wondering if anyone has had a root canal while having fibro or other sensitivity problems with your mouth? If so was it a long recovery due to the sensitivities of our mouths? Did you have lots of pain during and/or after? How long did it take to recover?
I have very sensitive nerves in my mouth and it takes forever to freeze me, sometimes it doesn't work at all.
Thanks!

Its been proven having fibro will increase the pain for any type of surgery, we are suppose to let our surgeons/docs know we have it ,

Make sure the dentist knows about the sensitivity. I am going to have a crown done in about a month. I am also very sensitive but have a positive attitude. Right now I am healing from foot surgery. It is not pain but being confined to my home until I can walk again. Best Wishes and I know you will be fine. Lorri

I just read your story and your treatment and I'm even more convinced you might have it. You are so young and you have so many similar issues to me. Read about the symptoms. See if you have a moment where you are like, "Hey, I didn't even know that was a symptom!" If that happens to you, I bet you have it and have been misdiagnosed. It's crazy how much better I feel just knowing I have answers for my pain. And I am doing okay tonight, just withdrawing from some pain medicine that I no longer need. It's not fun but it's necessary :/

I thought I had fibro. Recently got diagnosed with EDS type Hypermobility. One of the side effects is having lots of tooth pain and needing root canals because of it being a connective tissue disease and also I've always needed a ton of local anesthetic to feel numb. Happened with my epidural and during my C-section too. Both local anesthetics wore off super fast! So maybe there is more to the story than fibro for you too.

Don't believe everything you think you know about fibromyalgia. I've had fibro. for years. Take Lyrica for the pain. I just had major spine surgery and literally flew through it. Rough first week after the surgery and then....I was back up to speed. The absolute best thing I've done for pain relief. No more leg cramps, no more sciatica, no more pains shooting through to my hip. Yeah I still have fibro and arthritis ...but at least I can walk without screaming........Fibro is different for everyone.....please don't believe all the hype that you see out there!! If you do you'll be having symptoms where there are none!!!
