Personally, I found that it was absolutely useless. In the end, I ended up on 300mg a day, and it didn't help in the slightest. In fact, last I heard there was a lawsuit against Pfizer. Like Cymbalta, Lyrica wasn’t originally developed to treat pain. It was used as a treatment for anxiety and epilepsy. Pfizer was even hit with a 43 million dollar settlement for misleading marketing of drugs - the company ignored FDA warnings and made misleading marketing claims about its drugs Zyvox and Lyrica.

The attorneys general also took issue with Pfizer’s continued marketing of off-label uses for Lyrica, which was initially approved for treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy and post-herpetic peripheral neuropathy, and subsequently approved for treatment of fibromyalgia.

“Contrary to the approved intended uses, Pfizer marketed Lyrica for the treatment of chronic pain, neuropathic pain (other than DPN and PHN), perioperative pain, and migraine,” reads the suit.

So yea, I'm never touching the stuff again.

I went on Lyrica for Chronic Neck, Back,Arm and nerve pain. I reacted to it slurring my speech, not saying the right words, falling asleep it was horrible. But I know people that are fine on it. I now take Gabopenton I take 6 100mg tablets a day.

I have been on Lyrica before it's been sometime but I believe it did help. Certainly worth a try what works for one doesn't alway's work for the other! Get a month supply and try it . Hope this helps.

The first time I took @Lyrica I slept for 13 hours straight. Worked with my Doctor Who started me at a lower dose until I could tolerate it without feeling sedated, sleepy and/or drugged. Now it doesn't bother me at all and I'm up to 200mg TID and it's really helping with my nerve pain. As far as overall pain I don't think it's making much of a difference.
