Discusses various studies into chronic pain and what causes it.

Explores the premise thinking about pain creates pain,

Suggests chronic pain inhibits motivation with a chemical imbalance

Hope for a solution that actually works! ! ! !

I have been working on the mind body interface for years now. It can get expensive for the training/equipment. My insurance and work comp insurance have made it difficult for my shrink to help me get the proper training needed for mind/body pain reduction. I now use books I find on the internet, but it's hard for me to remember what I have read, and then put that into practice. I believe it will work to some degree, but must be trained well and do it everyday. Just some personal Input. Thanks for the article.

They've identified a substance they call "substance P" which is present in greater quantities in chronic pain patients.
My personal belief is that this may be due to a lack of oxytocin. People need physical affection (not sexual, btw) in order to function properly. Western society sexualises everything, and in so doing creates a situation where the slightest touch can be misinterpreted as a come-on.
We live in a psychotic society.

I auto trained my brain without even realizing it. I suffer from constant pain but if asked if I am
In pain I have to "let go" of myself to feel the whole pain & the severity of it to describe it to the Dr.
When I am
N the part where I place
Pain away, I still hurt, but not nearly as bad.
I also have somedays the pain cannot be hidden & it is unbearable

Great article. The brain is an amazing thing IF we are open-minded enough to use it for things we wouldn't think it could do.
