Noticed many are talking about the expense of lidocaine cream.....I have an alternative..... Dynamo Delay spray contains 13 percent lidocaine, much more than what the over the counter creams contain. Don't laugh, but it's a male genital desensitized spray. You can find it at most adult stores, and surely on line. Cheaper, more lidocaine, and easy spray application! What more could you ask for?
I keep a record of my pain with an app called 'My Pain Diary'. There are many pain diaries out there. I find this one to be particularly useful. It gives a scale of pain levels, which helps me make a sensible response when asked what level I'm currently experiencing. Providing your online it automatically records the weather, which may have some effect on your pain. It enables me to record the locality of the pain, the type of pain, the foods I've eaten and many other factors. One of the biggest advantages for me is that it validates my suffering, which I find strangely comforting. The app is available on Android.

I don't wait until my pain is out of control before taking meds If I let my pain get really bad I cannot ever make it stop. I take what is prescribed. Has anyone ever tried lidocaine for nerve pain? The Aspercreme with Lidocaine works, although temporary, I use it on the tops of my feet where I get some nerve burning every now and again, especially after days where I've been on my feet a lot like holidays or if I'm out and about. My doctor scripted me 5% lidocaine patches, too, they are gentle on the skin and soft, kinda gelatinous to the touch. They're not cheap, but they really can help, even just to take the edge off for a while.
