Members shared diverse ways they find happiness and cope with chronic pain, with activities ranging from staying busy with church and family, beading, gardening, and cooking with fresh ingredients, to walks on the beach, playing disc golf, and listening to music from the 60s through 80s. Several members emphasized the importance of gratitude, performing daily good deeds, scheduling fun activities regularly to prevent feeling down, and adapting hobbies to accommodate energy levels and physical limitations. A recurring theme was the deep value of connection whether through lively friends, grandchildren, or the supportive community itself, with many offering encouragement to one another during difficult times.

It depends on the energy I have. My favorite is go to the beach. I love visiting with lively friends. Sometimes a walk to get out of the dumps, get endorphins moving. I try to keep fun things in my regular schedule so I don't get down or "need" to find fun.
