Members rallied around someone seeking natural anti-inflammatory alternatives to steroids and support for quitting smoking, with many sharing they take similar supplements like turmeric, CoQ10, flaxseed oil, and tart cherry juice, though results varied. Several members who successfully quit smoking after decades offered practical strategies including calling 1-800-QUIT-NOW, using nicotine patches or gum, trying Chantix, vaping as a transition tool, and using tootsie pops or suckers for the hand-to-mouth habit. A recurring theme was the deeply personal nature of quitting, with members acknowledging the difficulty, weight gain fears, and the role smoking plays as a coping mechanism, while encouraging perseverance and checking vitamin D levels as another factor in managing pain.

Good luck with quitting smoking. I smoked for over 30 yrs. I quit by using Chantix. It was the hardest thing that I ever did. But, it's worth it. Just think of the money that you'd be saving.

I take the same things to reduce inflammation because I cannot take anti-inflammatory meds due to taking plavix. I have to stop my 40 year smoking habit and don't know how I am going to be able to do it

Everybody is different when it comes to quitting, and what works for one person might not work for another. A lot of people have great luck with Chantix, but I actually found myself smoking more. Nicollet tell worked great for quitting smoking , but quitting the gum was EXTREMELY difficult .
