Hey everyone, new to this site and forum but here is my question. I have been taking OXYCODONE for a couple of years now. I am taking 10mg every 4 hours. It use to help alot but for the past few months I have noticed it doesn't help quite as well, but it's better then nothing. Because believe me it's hell without it.. A lot of people don't understand the affects of CBD. I am deathly allergic to THC. My doctors have prescribed me medical marijuana and I have to be careful at the percentage of THC that dry cannibas contains. I have gone through several LP that offer high CBD but still contains THC. I haven't had a reaction that has put me in the hospital yet, like if I'm exposed to someone smoking a joint that is THC. I think that I have found a strain that may work but I can only smoke it when I'm ready for bed, as it knocks me right out. I don't like that. I have been to a dispensary that carries the perfect strain, but I don't receive compassionate pricing and of u get caught with it, it is not what's listed on my prescription. I wish I could find a LP that has it, but in all my research I have yet to find one.
Anyways mg point is that CBD is specifically targeted for pain relief. There are no addecta that you would have when smoking THC. I have hears mix reviews about how it works or doesn't work for people. This is like every other medication out there. Not one person has the same pain as another, so you shouldn't expect the same results.
They are really pushing for patients to be off narcotics and onto a different treatment. More and more narcotic medications are either not covered anymore or have become a slow release capsule so that you can't crush the pill. Some medications are even being discontinued.
I hate the feeling of a THC high. As you said a lot of people don't understand that you can smoke without getting high. I wish people would so their research before judging other people's decisions to be off narcotics.
I don't have the feeling like you do, but I don't feel some relief after smoking. I'm not sure if this will be the right treatment for me, but I so know that I don't want to be taking narcotics for the rest of my life.

I felt too tired on Oxycodone. Hydrocodone works better for me. Ask you Dr doctor if he could print out the CDC guidelines for prescribing pain medication. This may calm your fears about the medications being discontinued. The guidelines may also defend your stance that you need pain medication....Not everyone who needs pain medication is an addict..

I know some people are anti-cannabis, and I've brought this up before, but using small doses of it in various forms throughout the day really helps me get by. I use it in place of pain medications because they're hard to attain in the first place, especially if you're always switching doctors, and I know it won't have the same negative, long-term effects as Oxy or other opiates. It's easier for your body to process it as it is a plant, after all. CBD items are great for helping with pain without the psychoactive effects, and there are some low volume THC items that may also help pain without the strength of something that would get you high. I had to explain this so many times to my parents, that there are ways to use cannabis that won't get you high. It is 100% possible! And common. However, the more pain I'm in, the more I look to THC AND CBD for physical comfort. I have asthma, so smoking is more difficult for me, but it's the fastest way to relieve my pain, and smoking/vaping seems to be the most effective form of pain relief for me. The second I inhale, I can feel the muscles in my back relaxing and popping. And I've never had that sense of relief from any drug, and especially not that fast.

OxyNeo is the controlled release pill. It's the little balls in the capsule. So it can't be crushed.
Oxycodone is a tablet. Not slow release. That usually why it's prescribed more times a day.
There are a lot of medications the Ministry won't cover anymore. Like HydroMorph 18mg and 24mg. They are trying to get doctors to stop prescribing Morphine and Oxycodone based medications. That's why the push for Medical Marijuana is so huge.
I'm surprised Fentanyl is still being prescribed with the epidemic going around. 15 years ago it was Methadone.
We have a great healthcare system in some ways and in others it works against us.
I was on 8 Percocet a day and Oxycodone 20mg twice a day and my doctor just took me off the Oxycodone cold turkey and down Percs to 4 a day. I asked why and he told me that the mg to be prescribed to a person now went from 200mg down to 50mg. Us in Ontario are being screwed because it the College of Physicians who made that decision and they are Provincial.
I'm so glad I've been a Pharmacy Technician for years so I can tell you I know what I'm talking about.

For the ladies in the US. We don't have the same pain medication as you for the exact same reason above. Addicts and the amount that hits the street. Our screening process for medication is higher than yours. @A MyChronicPainTeam Member Naproxen is a NSAID. Non Steroid Anti-inflammatory Drug. It is not a muscle relaxer but can help muscle aches. It blocks out the body's natural substances that cause inflammation. I would have a talk with him now that you know that.

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member The names are different so that the drug companies can use a patent or a tiny bit of the ingredient percentage has changed to make it legal in one country but not another. Its a screwed up system. When us in the pharmacy to from one country to another, you have to complete equivalent courses and tests like doctors do, because the law of each country is different.

Sorry for blabbing. I hope this helps.
