What Would You Do If This Happened To You..
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

On December 5th I was to have a makoplasty knee transplant. IAfter surgery, I did faintly remember the doctor telling me that I did not get a makoplasty knee but I would like my new knee. I never woke up and my spouse was told on Thursday sfternoon that I would have to go to a rehab. The hospital made the choice telling me this Rehab was the only place available. I was there one day and it was discovered on day two I was overdosed with a pain medicine that was only to be given to me if I… read more

Couple more thoughts as I’m reading the new comments. The rehab has to know what meds and the doses that were given. The meds are controlled so they have to count them.
As far as an attorney, there’s some very good ones here in Michigan which might be national. I’d recommend getting your records first so you can review them. If you have a friend that is a nurse or paramedic maybe they could review your medical records for malpractice. I’m assuming they gave you general anesthesia for your surgery. Since you’re allergic to many medications you might have had an adverse reaction to the meds used. As far as the memory loss, they may have given you a Med that actually causes short term memories to be blocked for a certain amount of time to help prevent traumatic memories if you wake up during surgery. Versed is a Med that can be used to cause this effect. There’s others but I don’t remember all their names. I’m a Registered Nurse but am not working in a facility/bedside nursing any longer due to having back surgery and chronic pain (and weakness/Neuropathy of my right foot especially). Currently I’m off work due to a fractured right foot, anyways, just sharing a little background information about me.
Besides the meds there are other issues. What is the answer your surgeon gave for changing the type of knee replacement you had? That answer needs to be a valid reason...

PS: I truly do hope you’re doing and feeling much better!

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member If it was me I would heed the advice given and contact an attorney pronto. They will come to you as @A MyChronicPainTeam Member said, that's what the ads say, also. I would think the sooner the better. Scary situation! Best of luck and am praying that you regain your health soon. I'm so sorry they put you through all this.

Constipation is from pain meds! I always take stool softeners when taking pain meds . Hope you feel better soon.

I usually cringe when I hear or see whenever someone respond this way but I think it's appropriate, contact a lawyer, if you call they come to wherever you are at since it doesn't sound like your mobile. I hope you get answers and satisfaction
