Question Regarding Maintaining Income When Pain And Illness Prevent Financial Stability
A MyChronicPainTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’m wondering what others do when disability is denied (I’ve appealed and am waiting for my court date) how do you find ways to make money if you’re unable to work full time, or unable to work outside your home? I’ve seen various work at home ideas, but most require a computer and internet service. I have internet on my phone but currently no computer and no internet or WiFi in my home. Suggestions are welcome. Thank you!!!
God bless and have a great rest of the week!!!

JenniferDiSalvatore. So glad I could help! One question I have for you. Is your lawyer one that asks for money up front, because if he is one that only gets paid once the case is settled, then you shouldn't owe much if anything. Basically if they are that type of lawyer, they will take there portion out of the back money you get from disability and only if you win. As for switching lawyers, you should just be able to up and find another, meet with them and say my last one didn't do so well, but I think theres still a shot, how do we do this? Try and find one that will just take the money out of the disability it will serve you better because usually they will work harder to get the best outcome, because that's the way they get paid. There is no guarantee that they will take the case, but if they do it's kind of an incentive for them to push for a win. There is also an option with them that you can choose, where you don't have to gather anything, or file anything yourself if you aren't sure about anything you need to do. It should be fairly easy to get a different attorney though, just make sure they specialize in disability also. Hope it all works out for you! Sending you good vibes!

Racing, thank God you received it! I know this isn't the right forum, but it just angers me to no end that "they" are wanting to give illegal fence jumpers full medical care, plus an income, plus, plus, plus....ad nauseum, yet as U.S. citizens, paying into the system our entire working lives, we have to move Heaven and Earth to get any kind of help to retrieve any of our own money. Ok, I'm going to stop now before I write a novel. At any rate, I'm very happy for you! - Adena♥️

@A MyChronicPainTeam Member. I wanted to note something else that my partner picked up on and I didn't, but wanted to point out. In one of your statements you said that you could work, but that it would leave you with excruciating pain. When you are dealing with anyone involving your case, especially someone who puts stuff on record, NEVER and I mean NEVER say that you can work in any sense of the phrase! That is of the utmost importance! Even if you can and it leaves you in pain, you cannot ever say so, because they do not care about the pain, or fatigue, or any of it if you say you can work, they will use that to tear your case to shreds and throw that statement back at you any chance they get! That goes for anyone who reads this, I can't stress this fact enough! Never say you can work!

From my experience those work from home things are a scam.

I was truly blessed when I filed for disability. I did have to see 2 of "their" Drs but got my disability within 4 months. I did have a disability atty.
