Hi there. First off... i know these oains too well. Fortunately i only had this while i was pregnant. A random charlie horse in a thigh muscle is nothing to laugh at... hurts like a bitch! I know you mentionned having tried a bunch of supplements but i wanted to ask you, how ling did you stay on the CalMag? I dont know your history nor eduxational background... Im from a health sciences background. The magnesium does work.... its just not a pain killer nor a cure. Over a period of time it will get less intense and much less frequent but because its a water solluble supplement, it does take months before you notice a difference and it does need to be taken with calcium. Deoending on yoir D3 levels, you may need to stick with the D supplenent for the length of treatment but the D3 and Calcium dosage may need adjusting. I would suggest taking the magnesium separetly fron the calcium but taking them at the same time. The calcium may need to be at a higher dosage deoending on age and activity levels and of course your D3 levels. Im hapoy to help out. I just dont want to go into a whole lecture on how they work if A) youre a microbiolgist or B) know all this and habe been on supplements for more than 6 months consecutivley. I know i hate when people rhyme off a bunch of info i already have and i really dont want to seem like i know everything when i really dont.

Hi. I am new to the group. Generally muscle cramps are csused by an electrolyte inbalance in your body. Stay hydrated is fantastic. However, if you only drink water you maybe loosing sodium. If you loose sodium, your potassium gettings out of whack as well as magnesium. Try drinking gatorade, powerade or pedielyte. Sugar fee is fine too. Those have the electroltes u need. Try drinking that, instead of water for a frw days and see what happens. If it doesnt help u may need to take magnesium tablets. Good luck. Let me know

I would definitely recommend that you talk to your Dr. about this. I have a close friend that was having these same symptoms and one day his cramps got so bad that they had to get a ambulance to pick him up from work and take him to the hospital. He ended up having a blood colt in his leg. Because he would just man up and walk out the cramps and he did not want to take the time to talk to his Dr. he ended up having the leg amputated just above his knee.

When I get cramps I use a product called “Calm”. The key ingredient in it is magnesium. I mix about a heaping tea spoon in aproxamently 8oz of warm water in a large 24oz tumbler because it will foam up. There are a couple types of magnesium out there and this type also works as a laxative.
